Great Wolf Lodge

We recently took a mini vacation to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX. This is an indoor water park of which there are several throughout the country. This was our second trip, our first being to the park in Kansas City. ANYWAY.... I strongly recommend this trip to anyone with kids, it is SOOOO much fun and really pretty affordable. Both the locations we have visited were very clean, the staff is amazing, and there is stuff for all ages! Now that I have done some free advertising I will tell you about our trip:)

We knew we needed to eat lunch when we arrived before we went to the park, so we decided to go to the Rainforest Cafe in the nearby outlet mall. I will not do free advertising for them:) The food was mediocre at best and expensive, however I will say that the kids did truly enjoy the atmosphere (especially Jake)

Took about 30 of these pics, this is the best one..... seriously!
We took Kenzi's best buddy Maddy with us. They have been friends since pre-k and it made me a little sad when I looked through these pictures how very old they are looking:(

Jake with a little sour lemonade!

Very cute girls:)

So then we headed to the lodge, checked in and got to the important part..... swimming! I really just looked at these pictures today, so that tells you that I have been ignoring the computer all together, not just my blog:) This was so much fun, it made me want to go back today!!

He is laughing in this picture I promise:) I was holding his feet and dragging him on his back, he thought this was hysterical!
They have several of these in the kiddie area, little jet ski like things with water guns. He could not actually pull the trigger himself but he sure did love to sit up there and pretend:)

This will probably be the only picture you see of me:) I have my cover up on and my hair is not wet and crazy yet! I absolutely hate wearing a swimsuit publicly, however, I would not miss out on all this fun for anything! But there really is no need for photographic evidence!

Jake and Daddy, also before the fun has begun, so Jake is really done with pictures and ready to GO!!

Kenzi and Maddy in the Lazy River
The girls..... I don't have as many pics of them as I do Jake as they are very independent and enjoyed venturing off on their own:) Also a little sad:(

End of Day 1....... how precious is this??? We won't mention that about 2:30 in the morning we awoke to a thud and a wail due to him landing on the floor unexpectedly:( Poor baby, but he didn't remember a thing!
The girlies having breakfast in the morning..... who looks more awake to you???
Again, with the preciousness...... I really can't get enough of this kid!

These 2 pics show jake going up steps and down a little slide that was bout 3 ft. he did this no less than 3,000 times:) He was having a ball and he wanted absolutely no help!

Yes, that is my precious baby flying down this slide completely out of control! Can I tell you that he LOVED this!! The bad news was that he could not do this one by himself, it required two grownups due to the cement steps and someone needing to grab him at the end. He also has no concept of waiting in a line so even when he got to the top he would just walk right up to front of the line and sit down on the slide, fortunately there was barely anyone over 3 so no one really knew the difference:)

At some point I decided to take Jake to the wave pool, he is such a little daredevil! He will try just about anything. This was hysterical! He would be beside himself with the anticipation and then the wave crashing on him and knocking him down! I literally laughed so hard I cried:) I would say here they come, here they come, here they come... SPLASH!!! He would crack up, it is one of the cutest things I have ever seen!

here they come...
here they come...
here they come...
SPLASH!!

This is where the girls spent most of their time, the big slides! I got to go on a couple, which I was very excited about because last time we went I was pregnant! The green one was my favorite:)

Beautiful Kenzi!!

Kenz helping Jake with the trigger power:)

Well all good things must come to an end..... here some pics we took in the lobby getting ready to leave:(

The kids

The girls

The fam

The boys

Couldn't resist the cuteness!!

By the way we did not take Connor with us, he stayed at Gramps and Grammie's! Just so you don't think I forgot to take pictures of him. He will get to go next time when he is a little older:)

I'M BACK

Ok, so I knew this might happen.... I fell off the wagon! I am vowing to get back on today, boys are sleeping and I am going to do a couple of posts. I am sure many of you have been on pins and needles anyway:)

Popsicles

Ahh... something I forgot to mention in my summer love post, popsicles! I love them, all kinds, and sno cones, especially Josh's..... but that is a whole other story! Anyway back to popsicles, and yes, my last four posts are all from the same day, I got a little behind and thought if I put all in one post it would be too long. Now I am rambling.... Here are my kids enjoying popsicles just like their mom!

showing off....
what happens when you show off.....

Yes Amy, they are the popsicle tubes that are 100% sugar and 0% anything good for you:) Tell Bill he will appreciate it!

Kenzi is teaching Jake the proper way to suck the juice from the popsicle, what a great big sister!

Yes, we did eat all those popsicles between us and yes we probably need a 12 step program:) I promise we don't do this every day!

Jake (lack of brainpower for a cute title)

These are just a few pics I took of Jake the other day when we were outside. They are, in my opinion, pretty darned cute!

Whatcha doin' mama?
I mean, come on how sweet is this face?
Serious thinking going on here....

Future male model, abs of steel and quite the poser!

Water hose

After the water balloon excitement Jake was not really ready for the fun to end, so we turned on the hose. Remember when you were a kid how fun the hose was? Hopefully I am not the only one with that memory:) surely not that would be sad.... anyway hopefully my kids are making fond hose memories!

I love how he looks so serious!

And the thighs.......oh the fat little baby thighs!!

Water Balloons continued......

So... the water balloons from the last post were for Kenzi's soccer camp on Friday. I don't know if you remember last Friday but there was A LOT of rain! Needless to say we came home from soccer camp with all the same balloons that we brought. But we decided that such a good batch of water balloons should definitely not go to waste so.......

We had our own water balloon fight! Well sort of, we threw them around, Kenzi is the only one with any sort of aiming ability:)

Ok, so obviously Jake has pretty good aim too, I guess I am the only one who is lucky to hit someone standing a foot away from me! (Fortunately they take after their dad in this regard)

Water balloon fight over.... they are always disappointing aren't they?? It takes 45 minutes to fill the ice chest and 3 minutes into the fun this what you have........

Oh well it was fun while it lasted!
